The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the current time, so you could imagine that there might be very little appetite for visiting Zimbabwe's gambling halls. In reality, it appears to be operating the other way, with the desperate market circumstances leading to a larger desire to play, to try and find a fast win, a way from the problems.

For nearly all of the people living on the meager nearby money, there are two dominant types of gaming, the national lotto and Zimbet. Just as with almost everywhere else on the planet, there is a national lottery where the probabilities of winning are surprisingly tiny, but then the winnings are also unbelievably large. It's been said by economists who look at the subject that the lion's share do not purchase a ticket with an actual expectation of hitting. Zimbet is centered on one of the national or the English soccer divisions and involves predicting the outcomes of future matches.

Zimbabwe's casinos, on the other foot, cater to the exceedingly rich of the country and tourists. Until recently, there was a considerably big vacationing industry, built on safaris and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic woes and connected conflict have carved into this market.

Amongst Zimbabwe's gambling halls, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slots, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has just the slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only one armed bandits. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, both of which offer table games, slot machines and video machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the two of which offer slot machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe's gambling dens and the aforementioned mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there are a total of 2 horse racing tracks in the nation: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Seeing as that the economy has shrunk by beyond forty percent in recent years and with the associated poverty and conflict that has come to pass, it is not known how healthy the sightseeing business which funds Zimbabwe's gambling dens will do in the next few years. How many of them will carry on till things get better is basically not known.
